Twilight Singers

Everything Greg Dulli (Twilight Singers, Afghan Whigs) has ever created sounds like midnight and Marlboro reds and girls who used to be strippers. (In other words - awesome.)

I'm rather boring myself so I prefer to live vicariously through Dulli. I'm also pretty sure that if you listen close enough you might get an STD.

Sounds Like: Dark, dirty, sexy, hurt-y.
MILT Score : 8 (all 7 deadly sins plus a special TV bonus)

Twilight Singers - The Blackbird and the Fox

Lil B

This may or may not be the most offensive thing I've ever seen / heard in my life. Here's the real problem though. It's catchy.

At first I was like "nah" but then three hours later I'm driving around and humming "Look Like Jesus". Then I get mad at myself and I try to think about something else. But it's too late.

So now it's your turn. I dare you to watch this all the way through even though it's abominable. I dare you not to laugh and I dare you not to hum the chorus later on.

(PS - By posting this, I may or may not suffer eternal damnation, and I may be enabling a crazy person.)

Radiohead

No matter what you think of them, you have to admit that they are the best band since Radiohead.

Sounds Like: Radiohead
MILT Score : 10 by mandatory decree of the universe

The Strokes

I'm excited that The Strokes are back. Not "holy sh-- there's a new Radiohead album coming out Saturday" excited, more like "they catered the meeting so I don't have to buy lunch today" excited. Somehow, their new track kind of encapsulates this level of excitement.

Sounds Like: Exactly what you thought it would sound like.
MILT Score : 5 Pabst Blue Ribbons

The Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness

Secret Knives

Secret Knives is one dude with a guitar, bass, drums, and a laptop. Totally self-produced, and he plays all the instruments which is cool if you're into that whole putting-in-the-time-and-effort thing.

Sounds Like: A wolf parade minus the bear.
MILT Score : 6.5 (or 7 if it's raining outside)

Secret Knives - The Northwest States

Yuck

I like Yuck, which is an awesome band name btw, but they make me feel old. It's one thing to put on a Fleet Foxes record and hear them artfully mimic The Byrds but Yuck isn't making 60s and 70s revival music, they're taking aim at the 90s. Whatever. Even if they're doing Yo La Tengo impressions, they're damn good ones.

I should finally have this record tomorrow if Amazon doesn't F things up and demand a signature upon delivery again...

Sounds Like: Bill Clinton is still POTUS.
MILT Score : 8 Blue Line Swingers

Yuck - Rubber
